The Sherwin Williams store manager contacted me recently to bring him some business cards to pass out to their customers. He said numerous people are purchasing wallpaper and need professional installers to hang it for them. This is us...That is what we do!
I'm so happy to see the trend returning because nothing adds more personality to a room faster and easier than wallpaper. Our team does a wonderful job hanging it and it's not easy to make all the cuts necessary to have a flawless installation. Think about a spring spruce up for a room, go look at some books at Sherwin Williams, they even let you take some books home so you can take your time choosing in the comfort of your own home.
Give me a call and I will be happy to come to your home at your convenience to give you an estimate. I can let you know how many rolls to order as well. See you soon!

How long have you had that paint color on the walls? It might be time to change it up! If you have had the same color on your walls for 5 years or longer, it's time for some new color in your life.
Painting the walls, trim and ceiling make such an impact on your home, and your attitude. When was the last time you walked into your home and said "Ahhh, it's so beautiful in here"? You deserve that!
I love the smiles on our customer's faces when everything is freshly painted. It brings such joy to everyone. It's one change you can make in your life that doesn't cost you a lot of money, but we get busy in our lives and tend to forget about the little things that can make a dramatic difference in our attitudes.
The new color scheme that is trending now is grays. The walls are a medium gray, then use 25% lighter for the trim, and 50% lighter for the ceiling. WOW! Stunning look! Granted, there are a ton of different shades of gray available, and picking just the right one can't happen in the store from a 1" x 1" square.
Additionally, the lighting in every home is completely different. What looks like gray in the store light can sometimes be completely different in your home. So, pick up a few sample pints and try large sections on the walls so you can see what those shades will actually look like in your home. Make sure you look at them at all different times of the day too, as your lighting changes throughout the day.
Give us a call, we would be more than happy to help you pick out the perfect color scheme for your home. You'll be amazed how refreshing it will be.

If you are considering selling your house now, or even a few years from now, the number one update any real estate agent will advise you to do is paint.
If you have wallpaper, they always recommend removing it and painting. When interested parties enter your home they don't want to see a project. They love looking at bright, clean walls and ceilings. The difference in a room that is papered in an outdated wallpaper to a fresh, new modern color is amazing!
When you live in your home and you see the same dirty wallpaper or paint every day, you don't look at it from someone else's perspective. Usually when we work with real estate agents they recommend a very neutral color for every room. Then the buyers can decorate with accessories, or bring in their own taste in color later on after they are settled in their new home. Move in ready is easier for everyone.
Linen white is a popular shade for walls, which is a creamy off white. Light grays are also in style. These colors goes with everything. You may want to start one room at a time now to begin preparing your home for a quicker sale, instead of waiting until you need to do them all at once. Then YOU can enjoy them also, not just the new buyers. A paint job freshens the space and your life! Call us for a free estimate today!

I am asked a lot while I am on estimates "What is the newest trends in colors?" It always makes me think how we decorate our homes to impress other people. Why don't we just surround ourselves with OUR favorite colors in OUR homes?
If you love lavender, paint your bedroom lavender. If you have a man who objects, let him choose a color for the den or his office. My husband and I have an understanding. I don't tell him what to do with his garage and cellar areas and he doesn't interfere with my decorating ideas for our home. We compromise.
Is red your favorite shade? My laundry room was red for 2 years, and I loved it! It's fun to experiment. If you grow tired of it, it's so easy to change the color to something new and different. All it takes is one day and one gallon of paint, or a simple phone call to Judy's Painting & Wallpaper Removal.
I had a customer who loved periwinkle. We painted her master bathroom in a beautiful shade of periwinkle and it transformed that room into a spa for her! When she arrived home from work she filled the bathtub with hot water and bubble bath, lit some candles, put on soft music, and soaked for 10 minutes. She said that ten minutes in her periwinkle bathroom relaxed her and set the tone for her entire evening!
Color is so important to our lives, and something so easily obtained. Why choose a color that doesn't resonate in your soul when you can have your favorite shades in your lives every day? Think about it. Your spa is a phone call away! Call me!

We all know how fresh cut flowers or a flowering plant can make a room look more alive, but it can get expensive to purchase flowers every week!
Another way that you can bring that feeling to a room is with stenciling. It can change a plain room and give it a fast and easy facelift! I chose to stencil in my dining room. It seems to me dining rooms are more limited in their decorating options. Most people have a table in the center of the room, chairs arranged around the table, and either a hutch or sideboard of some kind. Same boring look.
I decided to jazz it up a little. I painted the walls a medium sage green. The ceiling and trim I left white. I like the clean, uncomplicated look of a two color scheme. I then purchased a tulip stencil at a local craft store. There are hundreds of patterns online also. I decided to situate them just above the baseboards all around the room. I stenciled them in white also. The tulip is about 10" high and I put them 6" apart. I have received a lot of compliments on this idea because it is different and adds interest to the room.
You can choose from so many variations of this to give any room your personal touch. Perhaps you'd like a feature wall in your living room or bedroom. You can literally bring the outside into your room with stenciling. Check out some of the ideas pictured here, and give us call for more ideas...We can save you time by helping you pick the perfect stencil for your wall.

In one customer’s home, we wallpapered one wall with red brick wallpaper. Then she stacked a few of the boxes against the brick. It was a very rustic look, and it definitely added interest to the bedroom.
You can view all the different shades of brick and stone wallpapers online or in wallpaper books at your favorite paint store. I have some pictures here to help give you some ideas on the look, and I would love to drop by and go over decorating ideas with you! Call me!

It still amazes me what small changes you can do to really change a room. For example, in your kitchen you can keep the cupboards you have now and replace the hardware with new knobs and drawer pulls to update and refresh in minutes. It's that easy! Just make sure to bring an old knob with you when shopping so you can match the hole placement.
If you want a more dramatic change, we can paint the cabinets white if they are dark or wood. It lightens up the room instantly. Some of our customers like the look of top cabinets one color, say white, and the bottom cabinets a darker shade. Forest green or colonial blue is striking with the white. It is much less expensive than replacing all the cabinets. So many combinations of colors to choose from. I would be happy to stop by and brainstorm ideas with you anytime!
Your kitchen is the heart of your home, the bread basket of your family. You want to love the peaceful yet cheerful feeling you and your family experience in this room. Bon aperitif!
