In one customer’s home, we wallpapered one wall with red brick wallpaper. Then she stacked a few of the boxes against the brick. It was a very rustic look, and it definitely added interest to the bedroom.
You can view all the different shades of brick and stone wallpapers online or in wallpaper books at your favorite paint store. I have some pictures here to help give you some ideas on the look, and I would love to drop by and go over decorating ideas with you! Call me!

It still amazes me what small changes you can do to really change a room. For example, in your kitchen you can keep the cupboards you have now and replace the hardware with new knobs and drawer pulls to update and refresh in minutes. It's that easy! Just make sure to bring an old knob with you when shopping so you can match the hole placement.
If you want a more dramatic change, we can paint the cabinets white if they are dark or wood. It lightens up the room instantly. Some of our customers like the look of top cabinets one color, say white, and the bottom cabinets a darker shade. Forest green or colonial blue is striking with the white. It is much less expensive than replacing all the cabinets. So many combinations of colors to choose from. I would be happy to stop by and brainstorm ideas with you anytime!
Your kitchen is the heart of your home, the bread basket of your family. You want to love the peaceful yet cheerful feeling you and your family experience in this room. Bon aperitif!

Welcome to Judy's Decorating Tips!
A lot of my customers ask me for advice on decorating when I am on an estimate or when we begin their job. I am happy to help! I have been in literally thousands of homes in 42 years, so I naturally have absorbed ideas I love to share.
One of my favorite looks is antiques with modern furniture and accessories combined together. It gives such a unique and personal touch to your home. I also think the walls are very important to any room because they are the background to your color scheme. I love a decorative paint finish in smaller rooms or one accent wall in a larger room to add interest to the space. We do a finish called "frottage". It is a subtle technique that combines two or three colors blended to give a color wash appearance.
Blended shades of blue are gorgeous in a bathroom. Shades of taupe look masculine in a den. Greens are calming in a sun room or a kitchen. Antique mirrors, white accessories such as towels and rugs look so serene in a bathroom against walls with a decorative finish. So easy and so inexpensive to obtain this look! I have found affordable antiques at the Regional Market or on Craigslist or even garage sales. The hunt is half the fun!
Contact us and I will be happy to stop over to give you a very reasonable estimate. Hope to hear from you soon!
